Ho Tram Open

In 2015, The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, #35 in Golf Digest’s Top 100 Courses in The World and official host venue of the JGTA Junior Aspirations at The Bluffs, hosted the Ho Tram Open – the Asian Tour’s “Event of the Year”. The event stunned players and spectators alike, becoming a favorite amongst those competing professionally in Asia.

A four-man playoff decided the champion of the event, with Sergio Garcia challenging Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand, Himmat Rai of India and Lin Wen-Tan of Taiwan. Garcia held on to take home the trophy.

While Garcia did not compete in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), he and his wife have provided longstanding support of the AJGA through their foundation, hosting an AJGA Open event every spring – The Sergio and Angela Garcia Foundation Junior Championship, which takes place at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.

His victory at the Ho Tram Open in 2015 was monumental – both for himself personally and for the country of Vietnam.

“The Ho Tram Open was one of the real success stories for me personally and for golf in general,” commented Sergio Garcia. “To bring together such a great field, at such a great resort and create a weeks’ worth of world-class entertainment certainly made it a unique week for the players.

In just over a month, Junior Golf’s rising stars on the JGTA will pit their wits against The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, just as Garcia and many others did. Who has what it takes to become the first JGTA Champion to win in Vietnam?
