Amy Gao (2021) and Justin Sun (2022) Gain Round Two Lead

Major changes occurred on the leaderboard of the JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by Tradewinds Furnishings Singapore on moving day. JGTA veterans proved their talents on moving day at JGTA Bintan, taking over the leaderboard and have their eyes set on gaining the first-place ranking on the Junior Order of Merit.

2017-2018 All-Asia Team Honoree Amy Gao (2021) of Shanghai, China fired 37-39 for a second-round score of 4-over-par 76, giving her a two-shot lead in the Girl’s Division. Gao has competed in every JGTA event that has been held and finished 10th in the Junior Order of Merit Rankings last season.

Singapore local Angel Lim (2023) fired 37-35 for a second-round score of even-par 72. This is the lowest score in the Girl’s Division thus far, and she sits in second place heading into the final round. Nga Wun (Tiffany) Wu (2020) of Hong Kong matched her first-round score of 78 and sits in third place.

In the Boy’s Division, Justin Sun (2022) of Shenzhen, China took the lead on moving day after firing 35-36 for a second-round score of 1-under-par 71. Sun has been a consistent competitor in both the JGTA and AJGA and has a T6 AJGA finish under his belt at the 2018 AJGA Junior All-Star presented by Bryan College Station Sports & Events.

Markus Lam (2023) of Hong Kong shot 39-36 for a second-round score of 3-over-par 75. Lam sits in second place and is trailed by round one leader Masaki Ujiie (2020) of Guam, USA.

The final round of the JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by Tradewinds Furnishing’s Singapore takes place tomorrow, November 30th at Bintan Lagoon Resort. Stay tuned for the action…
