Yuta Tsai Commits to University of Missouri
JGTA member Yuta Tsai (2019) of Taipei, Taiwan has made a verbal commitment to the University of Missouri. Tsai emerged on the JGTA this year at the JGTA Taiwan Junior Championship at NGCC. He finished the week in 7th place with scores of 76-75-73 for a tournament total of 224. With his 7th place finish, Tsai snuck into the top-20 on the JGTA Junior Order of Merit.
In 2017, Tsai had a breakout season on the AJGA circuit. He finished in the top-15 in all three of his AJGA starts, including a T4 finish at the Under Armour® / Alison Lee Championship and a T3 finish at the AJGA Junior at Riverwatch. Alongside his great performances in AJGA tournaments in 2017 are a T20 finish in the 2017 IMG Junior World Academy Championship and a T14 finish last week at the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior. He is currently 138th on the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is competing this week in the Western Junior Championship.
The University of Missouri had a commendable 2017-2018 season. The team finished the year with victories at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate, the GCU Invitational, and the Missouri Tiger Invitational. The Tigers gave it their all in regionals but failed to make it into the National Championship in 2018.
