JGTA Champion Competes
Camille Boyd, JGTA Junior Order of Merit Leader and JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by dwell Student Living winner, will compete this weekend at the AJGA Junior at Lost Springs presented by Explore Bentonville. This will be Lost Springs Golf and Athletic Club’s sixth time hosting an AJGA Event and Boyd competes for the first time of many this season.
Many players in the field are in the top 300 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Boyd is currently ranked 212th, the second-lowest of all JGTA members in the Girl’s Division and has fully exempt AJGA status.
The AJGA Junior at Lost Springs presented by Explore Bentonville required a status of 19 Performance Stars to gain entry into the initial Girl’s Division and 17 Performance Stars to gain entry into the initial Boy’s Division. Since Boyd has fully exempt AJGA status, she entered the field with ease.
This is not the first time that JGTA players have ventured to America to play in the AJGA this year. In February, Amy Gao (2021) of Shanghai, China Yingzhi Zhu (2022) of Nanjing, China and Wen Qi Zhu (2019) of Shanghai, China traveled to Valencia, California to compete in the Buick Shanshan Feng Girl’s Invitational. Wen Qi Zhu bested the group shooting 79-79-77 to finish T50th.
