Gearing Up for AJGA Summer

The AJGA spring season has arrived, and it is action-packed with 38 tournaments across 14 states and the Dominican Republic. While players from Asia are competing on the JGTA in preparation for the AJGA Summer Season, their competition is fine-tuning their skills in the U.S. Check out some of the marquee events on the schedule below.

Sergio and Angela Garcia Foundation Junior Championship presented by Callaway Golf

A marquee event in the AJGA spring season is The Sergio and Angela Garcia Foundation Junior Championship presented by Callaway Golf, which takes place March 21-24 at the University of Texas Golf Club. This is the fourth edition of the tournament and every year the competition gets stronger.

ANA Junior Inspiration

The ANA Junior Inspiration is an All-Girls Invitational that takes place March 28-31 at the legendary Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, just before the LPGA Tour’s ANA Inspiration. It is tradition that the winner takes a leap into Poppie’s Pond. In addition, the winner gets an exemption into the LPGA’S ANA Inspiration.

PING Heather Farr Classic

The long running PING Heather Farr Classic takes place April 18-21 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, California. This will be the 16th year of the event, and every year scores seem to lower, with many shooting in the 60s. Last year, the Ping Heather Farr Classic came down to the wire, with Ricky Castillo winning in a playoff and Serena Sepersky taking home the title in the Girl’s Division by one stroke.

Thunderbird International Junior

Another long-standing event in the AJGA spring season, the Thunderbird International Junior, welcomes players from over 15 countries yearly (17 in 2018). The event takes place at Grayhawk Golf Club from May 24-27 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The weather is hot and the competition is strong – 51 players having been verbally committed or signed to play college golf among the 78 player field in 2018.
