ANA Junior Inspiration
The stage is set, and 48 junior girls are ready to battle for the ANA Junior Inspiration title at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.
Did we mention that the champion of this event earns an exemption the LPGA’s first Major of the year? That’s right, an exemption into the ANA Inspiration which takes place on the same grounds shortly thereafter.
Qualifiers from 11 North American cities including Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Vancouver, and Washington D.C as well as the countries England, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and the Philippines are competing.
In the field of 48, 29 are previous AJGA Champions, including 9 out of the top 10 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Defending Champion, Lucy Li (2020) of Redwood Shores, California, will return to Mission Hills. She is currently the number one player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. In her victory in the inaugural ANA, she shot 72-69-72 to finish with a three-day total of 213. 2017 ANA Junior Inspiration runner-up and Rachel Heck (2020) of Memphis, Tennessee also returns to Mission Hills in hopes to capture the trophy.
The final round of the ANA Junior Inspiration features pairings of two junior girls and an LPGA Legend. Legends playing in the final round include World Golf Hall of Fame Members Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, Sandra Haynie, Donna Caponi, Betsy King, and Hollis Stacy as well as many other LPGA Title winners such as three-time Women’s U.S. Open Champion Susie Berning.
