C.T. Pan's Resume

Spanning from his junior days in the AJGA, through his record-setting College golf career, to now his second year on the PGA Tour, is simply mind-blowing. In 2007, Pan began his AJGA career when he was 15 years of age (in his freshman year of high school), finishing 4th at his first-ever AJGA event, the TomatoBank Southern California Classic. In August of that year, he reached the 2007 U.S. Amateur quarterfinals, the youngest to do so since Bobby Jones in 1920.

University of Washington

Pan honed his skills in the AJGA for all four years of high school, collecting eight top-ten finishes at AJGA events, including multiple Invitationals, and eventually earning AJGA PBE Fully Exempt status. Signing an NLI (National Letter of Intent) to play golf at the University of Washington, he finished his AJGA career as a second-team Rolex All-American.

The four years C.T. Pan spent as a top junior in the AJGA made him one of the top college prospects in the world by the time he was a junior in high school – and this clearly paid dividends to his game the next level, playing golf at the University of Washington. There, he put together one of the most impressive four-year résumés in College golf history. These are just some of the mind-blowing things Pan accomplished as a member of the University of Washington men’s golf team:

  • won eight collegiate titles – a UW school record
  • set the school record for scoring average with a 69.9 (a feat he accomplished as a junior)
  • first-ever four-time Hogan Award semifinalist
  • finished his college career ranked on 3rd Golfstat and Golfweek, and 4th in WAGR
  • for eight weeks in 2013, was the number one amateur golfer in WAGR

Pan graduated from the University of Washington a legend in the UW men’s golf program, and with a four-year degree in Communications.

Professional Career

Turning pro in 2015, Pan continued his success, winning just his fourth event as a professional, The Players Cup on the PGA Tour Canada. After finishing 11th in the 2016 Web.com Tour season earnings, Pan got his PGA Tour card for the 2017 season where he quickly put together three top-10 finishes, including a T2 finish in January at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines GC. At only 26 years of age, he’s qualified for the US Open four times, taken home two gold medals at the Asian Games, competed in both the Olympics and the World Cup, and is currently ranked 64 on the World Golf Rankings.

With big names like C.T. Pan leading the way for future generations to follow, junior golf in Asia is most definitely on the rise.
