Best of the Best Put to the Test

This week, 144 of the world’s greatest junior golfers will compete at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in the long-standing 2019 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Players from 18 countries and 27 states look to become champions of the event, and 92 competitors out of the 144 player field have found themselves in the winner’s circle of an AJGA event prior.

Two competitors from the JGTA will test their skills this week in the 2019 Rolex Tournament of Champions – Camille Boyd (2020) of Yorba Linda, California, and Cyrus Yu Fung Lee (2020) of (Hong Kong) Lake Mary, Florida. Boyd is an AJGA champion and won the inaugural JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by dwell Student Living in 2017 and later went on to win the JGTA Junior Order of Merit. Boyd recently signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to compete at the University of Washington. While Lee is not an AJGA or JGTA champion, he has finished in the top-10 at AJGA events 4 times in his career.

With the NCAA early signing period beginning earlier this month, 85 juniors in the field have committed or signed to play college golf at American Universities.

After an exciting week of play, champions of the event are Rose Zhang (2021) of Irvine, California and Kelly Chinn (2021) of Great Falls, Virginia.
